(scanned from 09/09 issue of ARTNews)
Perusing the September 2009 issue of ARTNews, I stumbled upon this short column highlighting Christian Louboutin's summer shoes, a collaboration of fine art and fashion. The ads, shot by Peter Lippmann, channel and mimic still life paintings from such artists as Italy's Caravaggio and many Dutch masters. Could they have taken inspiration from these?
Caravaggio, Still Life with Fruit.
Floris van Dijck, Still Life with Cheeses.
Pieter Claesz, Vanitas Still Life.
More of Lippmann's pics found on his website here.

This is fabulous! What an amazing find, Jaime! :)
