Style you Sunday: gold skirt

My friend Ms. Mac emailed me this the other day:

"Hey Jaime! What do you think of this gold skirt? I think I really like it, but is it too 80's?

She wants to purchase this skirt from Lulu's to wear out at night or possibly for a holiday party this winter. From the return of neons, leggings, and boldly shouldered jackets, it's no secret that the 80's are making a comeback. That being said, we want to look modern, not legit from the 80's, right? Here's a look for her- the bow of the skirt already adds volume, so I paired it with a simple, fitted tank and sleek jacket, to balance the look. Fun gold & black accessories and heels finish complete this festive outfit.

Don't forget to comment with an item for me to use for next's week Style you Sunday! See your look here!

  1. I love that gold skirt... and I adore the way you added simple items to make the skirt the focal point in the ensemble.

  2. gold+black = a winner!
that skirt is absolutely adorable, i love the bow detail :)

  3. Absolutely gorgeous look, darling! The simple white tank is the perfect foil (ha ha pun intended) for the gold skirt!

  4. I love how you paired the gold skirt with monochrome pieces and accessories:) It really makes the gold colour pops and less of an 80's number!
