On Saturday, we went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I had never been to Ellis Island and hadn't been to the Statue of Liberty in years, so I was looking forward to it. The weather was just perfect, sunny and warm, and we got to experience an important part of America's history. Four of my great-grandparents came through Ellis Island, so it was fascinating be in the very spot that they came through 100 years ago.

ReplyDeleteawesome, I was just there in Sept. and did the entire searching of the relatives and found the ship manifest and all that. I also walked down the stairs she went down and found my Dad's name on the wall outside (donations, not immigrant :) ) and it was such a fun day of feeling like I was understanding my family and my roots!!! And I also took pictures with my little brother literally exactly where you did with yours hehe
