Happy first day of December! Kicking off the official countdown to Christmas, this post begins my 2nd year of the My Stocking series. Last year 25 of my fave bloggers submitted what they'd put in their stocking- and it must fit in a stocking! Kicking off the 2010 series, is the blogger who started it all last year, Erika from Cafe Fashionista!
My Stocking: March of the Penguins
By: Erika – CafĂ© Fashionista
Darlings, this year I have chosen le Penguin Stocking as a tribute to my childhood – specifically, a film I saw during my childhood (at the age of six)…The Chipmunk Adventure. In said film, I fell in love with the petit baby penguin who Alvin and the Chipmunks (and The Chipettes!) resolved to return home to his parents in Antarctica. I have never forgotten that baby penguin (or The Chipmunks rendition of Wooly Bully; but that’s another story); thus I feel that a stocking fashioned after his species is the perfect form of remembrance.
Moving on; now that you know why I chose the above stocking, let’s discuss what I would like to discover inside of it come Christmas morning, shall we?
1) Gossip Girl: The Complete Third Season – Some have Carrie and the girls; others have one Miss Holly Golightly. But moi? Though j’adore the aforementioned, my heart truly belongs to Blair Waldorf, Serena van der Woodsen, and Chuck Bass. Sadly, while I have read the entire book series, I have only seen the first two seasons due to the fact that I do not have cable. Hence the reason I need The Complete Third Season. Desperately.
2) A Donation in My Cat Morgan’s Name to Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. – Earlier this year my cat, Morgan, passed away. I had adopted Morgan from an animal shelter when he was one-year-old. Morgan had been the victim of abuse as a kitten, and was left with only one eye. His troubled first year truly aged him; yet despite all of the tragedy in his life, he was the sweetest angel ever! Therefore, I would like to receive a donation in Morgan’s name to the Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. to help other kitties just like him – it’s exactly what I think Morgan would have wanted; and would make me happiest this Christmas!
3) Betsey Johnson Snow Bunny Snowflake Charm Stretch Bracelet – Aside from the fact that I harbor un petit obsession with charm bracelets, I am quite smitten with the snow bunny motif at the moment; thus, I feel that this would be the ideal addition to my arsenal of accessories!
4) Cornelia and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters by Lesley M.M. Blume – As far as I am concerned, my loves, no Christmas is complete without a book in one’s stocking. Having been an enormous fan of E.L. Konigsburg’s From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, Louise Fitzhugh’s Harriet the Spy, and Kay Thompson’s Eloise during much of my formative years; I believe that this is the book that would be most welcome in my stocking this year, as I have heard that the main character, Cornelia, is just as precocious and lovable as all of the above!
5) J. Crew Glitterati Party Clutch in Glitter Brown (though I would gladly accept any of the three offered colors (glitter brown, glitter gold, or glitter silver black; I do not discriminate when it comes to glitter!) – Why? Simple. Every girl deserves a splash of sparkle in her life!
Happy, Happy Holidays, my loves; may Dear Old Santa treat you, and your stockings, well this year!
Fashionably yours!
