Can you believe today marks the end of The Oprah Winfrey Show? A woman who has transformed so many lives, not to mention daytime talk shows forever, is stepping down to pursue other endeavors. I don't get OWN at my house, so I have DVR'd the last few eps to keep Oprah going.
People.com has an entire page devoted to all things Celebrating Oprah, including her fashions and most memorable moments-- you must check out these video clips.
When I think of Oprah, I think...
- "You get a car! You get a car! You get a car!"
- Female empowerment.
- Book Club faves: One Million Little Pieces
, I Know This Much Is True
, Where the Heart is
- Tom Cruise....jumping....on a couch.
- True friendship (her & Gayle)
- The Oprah Effect.
- Favorite Things, and how much I desperately wanted to be on those episodes!
What do you think of when you think of Oprah?

I love her. I think she really does wake up every morning and think, "I have all this money and all this power, how can I use it to make the world a better place?". I just can't believe her show won;t be on anymore! I am at the office during the day, so it is not like I ever watch it, but I just like that she is on tv, putting positivity out there in the world. Now I guess it is all up to Ellen.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Oprah. I loved what she stood for, I loved how she projected woman empowerment. I loved how smart and witty she is. Awwww... No one will ever come close to the Oprah Winfrey Show.
ReplyDeleteI already have my tissue box ready!!!
ReplyDeleteI've probably only watched Oprah a handful of times, but she's such an amazing person. I can't believe the show is ending, but I'm sure the finale will be spectacular!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the realization of her departure hasn't hit me yet. It doesn't seem real. I mean, the show has been such a huge part of my life growing up. Ever since I was a baby, my mom has been watching the show and as I got older, so have I! It's really sad. It's a huge part of pop culture that is...gone now. :(
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad sad day. She has influenced so many of us for so long. She will be missed terribly for sure!
ReplyDeletei'm SERIOUSLY gonna miss her - i've been in TEARS the last few shows - i mean WHAT am i going to do without my Oprah time - i wish she stayed longer!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Oprah! I will definitely miss her show.
ReplyDeleteGosh I wish I had her confidence. She is a true leader!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to go to Favorite Things! I'm so mad it'll never happen now lol.
ReplyDeleteI honestly ALWAYS think of Tom Cruise jumping on the sofa. :) Oprah is amazing no doubt. We haven't heard the last from her. Hope all is well with you, LOOOVE your blog header. Super CUTE!!!!

Love her, I'm seriously going to miss her. When I think of her I think of happiness and the ability to overcome. Seriously, how she leveraged herself like that is really beyond me- on paper, she should have never gotten where she did. Love her.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch it today, but will probably watch clips or a replay at some point. I like the list of things you think of about Oprah. It's amazing how well known she is that even people who didn't watch her show regularly know what each of those things are! Maybe she'll air a version of Favorite Things on OWN - she should!
ReplyDeletewhen i think of oprah i think of dieting.
ReplyDeleteand short segments that lead to commercial breaks every 5 minutes. lol.
