DIY Anthropologie Snow Globes

A few weeks ago, I saw the cutest mason jar snow globes at Anthropologie (they are no longer on the website, but here is the salt shaker). As I started collecting them, all different sizes, and holding $75 worth in my arms, I realized that I could do this myself. I mentioned it to my mom, and yesterday we did the DIY project. It was so fun and really easy!
We bought the various sized mason jars from The Container Store and got the holiday figurines from Jo-Ann Fabrics. Super glue didn't work on the jar caps; Liquid Nails Adhesive glue to the rescue.  The "snow" was a mixture of white glitter and white sprinkles which added sheen and volume, respectively.
For the smaller figurines, we used pieces of styrofoam to raise them up a bit so to not be "snowed in".

For this one, I also hung a small star ornament from the top of the jar. It looks so cute hanging among the tree, snowman, and Santa.

All the finished products! My mom used red & white sugar sprinkles for two of hers...I love that look too!
I can't decide which one is my favorite!

  5. I'm so glad you made these, because I saw them in Anthropologie and nearly burst into laughter when I saw the price. And yours look just as good, if not better!

They look so adorable! Anthropologie, bless them, is just too outrageously priced!
