Friday Faves

I feel like this week flew by as quickly as this picture.  I am off to Marco Island, Florida Sunday-Wednesday for a work event.  I have a couple posts scheduled, including a guest post.  Have a nice weekend and enjoy these faves!

Art by Julia Denos

Ever since I saw fellow Boston blogger Noelani's redesign of her blog, Mon Petit Chou Chou, by Jessica Sutton & Julia Denos, I can't stop looking at Julia's cute, playful drawings. I am planning on getting my own place when my lease is up this summer; one of her pieces framed (this or this) may be my "apartment warming" gift to myself.

What I'm Wearing Wednesday: A Tea Party

On Saturday, my friend Mrs. A hosted a tea party for an afternoon of tea, champagne, treats, and conversation.  She pulled out all the stops with a lovely set-up, homemade cupcakes & lemon angel cake trifle, and selection of beverages.  Thanks to Mrs. A for a great afternoon! I wore:
flowers for the hostess!

  • Banana Republic white, lace dress- from the outlet
  • Nordstrom BP white blazer
  • Necklace from Egypt (gift)
  • Tory Burch wedges- loved these last year and snagged them from the outlet this year!
  • Pedicure: Essie 'Sure Shot'

Living Walls

Living walls are just amazing to me; and none so as much as ones used with succulents. These from Etsy site Tiffany's Living Art are gorgeous!  Since the are pre-made & unique, you get what you pay for, so I love the idea of this more affordable, mini living wall kit below from So Succulent.  Let's be honest, my green thumb isn't so green, so this really is right up my alley.

Then there's this uber amazing living wall I saw in Palm Beach...

Spinach, Lentil, & Tomato Soup

My allergies last week were getting the best of me, and despite the nearly 70 degree weather,Thursday night after work, I just wanted soup.  I had Pinned this recipe long ago and it seemed easy to make after work.  I decided to use lentils, instead of orzo, and rosemary diced tomatoes, instead of oregano.  After 30-40 minutes, my soup was ready, and with a toasted piece of fresh sour dough, it was just what the doctor ordered.  I am already thinking of trying it next time with cannellini beans and a fennel roasted diced tomatoes.

Chocolate-covered Matzah

My inner Jew came out last Friday night, and I went to a friend's parents' house for Passover. Not wanting to show up empty handed, I made some chocolate-covered Matzah. I started with this recipe and put my own twist on it with blue sprinkles.

Turned out quite delicious (as were those macaroons!)!

I have to share a picture of their Golden, Wesley, too!
