May Day

May Day Maypole
Happy May Day 2013!  It's the start of a fun month to come for me with lots of celebrations & birthdays (including yours truly on the 10th). In preschool, I have great memories of making a Maypole- which at the time just meant dancing around a pole with friends & ribbons. The tradition spans generations and cultures, with various meanings and tributes

If you want a DIY for this weekend, Martha Stewart teaches you how to make your own Maypole: DIY Maypole.

  2. I totallyyyy did the Maypole dance during my third grade May Flower Festival. It seemed ridiculous at the time, but looking back it really is such a sweet tradition :)

  4. I may or may not have reenacted the May Pole dance on May Day in 4th grade based on am American Girl Dolls play that I was reading at the time. I think it was a Samantha one. Ahhh the memories!
