Happy May Day 2013! It's the start of a fun month to come for me with lots of celebrations & birthdays (including yours truly on the 10th). In preschool, I have great memories of making a Maypole- which at the time just meant dancing around a pole with friends & ribbons. The tradition spans generations and cultures, with various meanings and tributes.

I totallyyyy did the Maypole dance during my third grade May Flower Festival. It seemed ridiculous at the time, but looking back it really is such a sweet tradition :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a public holiday here so that was nice. I forgot about the Maypole as well - ahh the games of childhood!
ReplyDeletep.s. Yay for DC's debut on the blog!

ReplyDeleteI may or may not have reenacted the May Pole dance on May Day in 4th grade based on am American Girl Dolls play that I was reading at the time. I think it was a Samantha one. Ahhh the memories!
