My mom has always been one to have a signature scent (or two). Growing up, I used to spray my blanket with her perfume of the time so that when I was sleeping at a friends or at camp, her smell stayed with me. To this day, if I catch a whiff of Cool Water or Calvin Klein Escape, I immediately think of my mom.
I started wearing perfume in high school- does anyone else remember RALPH? It was the "it" smell of the late 90s. My collection of perfumes grew and changed over time. I started using different scents for day or night and the seasons. Lighter in the summer, heavier in winter, of course.
College & post-college: Marc Jacobs Splash Orange | Cacharel Amor Amor | Narciso Rodriguez For Her | Armani Mania
What's your fragrance evolution?
Do you have different scents for day, night, summer, winter?

love it! i was VERY similar in HS vs. now!
ReplyDeleteI always think of your mom when I smell Cool Water too!
ReplyDeleteThrough my teens and college, I was all about mixing perfumes depending on my mood, but earlier this year I made it a goal to pick a signature scent. I settled on Kate Spade's Twirl, but just a week or so into wearing it my birthday came and went and I received Jack Wills' ladies' perfume as a gift from the boy! So by default, that became my signature, and I'm still very happy with it :)
ReplyDeleteThis is fab...I love it! I never thought of all the perfumes I used to wear through out my years, I should do this, it would be interesting to have a think of it. I have perfumes that give me certain memories as well :) I'm still on the search for a signature scent for my age now, but I will find one :) Have a great day doll x
ReplyDeleteI used to collect perfumes while I was in hs, but now that I'm a few years into college I've settled on 4 perfumes: Ralph by Ralph Lauren, Chance by Chanel, Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana, and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I have those four on rotation.

My favorite is Marc Jacobs Gardenia. So fresh and feminine.
ReplyDeleteI have many perfumes too! I collect the Marc Jacobs' ones because the bottles are just too cute!!
ReplyDeletemine is Daisy (surprise!) by Marc Jacobs. I didn't pick it myself though, friends gave it to me, and it's such a lovely scent that it stuck with me!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom's is Channel No. 5 and that will always remind me of her!!
My signature scent used to be Clinique's Happy..everyone knew it as my perfume..but I've gotten tired of it..and still haven't found a new signature scent. Mmmm the Jimmy Choo is great!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, my mother wore Shalimar by Guerlaine. To this day if I get a whiff of it I'm transported back in time to my childhood. I've been wearing Light Blue by D&G for the past 15 years. I also sometimes wear Carolina Herrara's 212. It's probably time for a new scent :)
