Recipes for Canning, Pickling, & Preserving

While I love mason jars, especially vintage/found ones, I was never one to be interested in canning or preserving. Though, I do love a good pickle. Recently, preserving, pickling and canning have become trendy with dedicated cookbooks and even a canning inspired line at Paper Source. I also see lots of blog posts and recipes for making your own sauces and condiments (more on this to come).

For my new Houzz Ideabook, I gathered the essentials for preserving and canning.  I am tempted to try making my own jam or pickles, just to see what all the fuss is about.  Ina Garten certaily makes this strawberry jam recipe look easy! But then again, she is the Barefoot Contessa.

The Food Network has a great resource page: Canning, Pickling & Preserves 101 and here are a few other recipes I found:

Have you canned, pickled, preserved before? Check out my Ideabook here: Essentials Item for Canning, Pickling and Preserving.
