The Benefits of Lemon Water

They say it's good to start your day with lemon water, as it supposedly helps jump start your metabolism and boost your immune system. Even better, you should drink it hot.  In the morning my instinct has been coffee, coffee, coffee, but with a recently purchased pitcher (similar), I've started slicing up some lemons on a Sunday to have fresh lemon water ready to go for the week.
Not sure if it's helping my metabolism or warding off the flu, but it certainly can't hurt to stay hydrated!

What do you think... does this healthy tip have any value for you?

Moonrise Kingdom Script

Focus Features has released the full movie script to Moonrise Kingdom in full gear of awards season, as the film has been nominated for several awards.  The script includes movie stills, behind the scenes snapshots, and sketches.  I thought this movie was adorable!  Anyone else see it?
Check out the Focus Features page for the full script PDF.

Secret Snowflake & Home-made Pizza Rolls

I hosted our annual secret snowflake gift exchange over the first weekend in January.  I had just seen a recipe for pizza rolls using Pillsbury Crescents, so decided to make those along with a few other nibbles. They were so easy to make and really delicious!  We had fun snacking, opening gifts, and playing with sweet baby M.
The finished pepperoni rolls.
The spread.
Love for M.
Loved my gift wrap from Emily!

The Inauguration Through the Beyonce Lense

Beyonce shared some behind-the-scenes pictures of her day at the second inaugural of President Obama. If you haven't checked out her Tumblr, you must (and she just started a blog too).  I cannot wait for her HBO documentary and how gorgeous did B look on Monday!? Hova isn't looking too shabby, either.

Summer Raffia Bags

Summer Raffia Bag
I'm heading to Florida for my annual trip at the end of February. I always like to purchase a couple new summery items to bring.  I've used the same Kate Spade bag for the past few summers, so I am looking for something new.  I like raffia/straw bags and am looking for a multifunctional one for work & play.  Here are some that caught my eye.
My favorites are the UGG, Doug Johnston, and Tommy Bahama (wish this had a crossbody strap!). Which one(s) do you like? Any other suggestions for me?

A Trend for all Ages... Gold-top Dresses

Gold top Dresses
Gold top Dresses

I love this look worn by two very different ladies, both age & style.  The colorblocking has a slimming, chic effect. I'd go for mixing and matching any fun, gold top with a LBS (little black skirt).

Winter Solstice Dressing in Cape Cod

I am totally inspired by this editorial from Boston magazine. It makes me want to cozy up in something comfy but refined.  My favorite piece has to be this Line & Dot fringe sweater.  Looks like a trip to Flock is in order.

Candid Polaroids from the Golden Globes

As much as I love watching the awards show red carpets and seeing what everyone is wearing, I always seek out candid photos and behind the scenes tidbits. These pictures were taken by photographer Lucas Mitchell, as winners made their way to the press room. posted 36 of them. Here are my faves.
You go, Ben Affleck.
